His goal is to destroy people’s faith by any means at his disposal: fear, shame, guilt, and otherwise sewing seeds of doubt. Though he acts in bizarre and seemingly arbitrary ways, he is always in control. His actions are carefully planned to disorient and strike terror into the hearts of his victims and ultimately get them to renounce their faith.
